How to Find and Use Your Airtable API Token

To integrate Airtable with third-party tools like the LinkAir Chrome extension, you’ll need your Personal Access Token (API Token). This token authorizes secure communication between the extension and your Airtable bases. Follow the steps below to find and use your token.

Steps to Access Your API Token in Airtable

1. Log into Your Airtable Account
   Go to Airtable and sign in using your credentials.

2. Navigate to the Developer Hub In the top-right corner, click on your profile icon, then select Developer hub from the dropdown menu.

3. Go to Personal Access Tokens
   In the Developer Hub, select Personal access tokens from the left-hand navigation menu.

4. Create a New Token
   Click Create new token.

   • Name: Enter a descriptive name (e.g., “LinkAir Integration”)
   • Scopes: Select the permissions your integration needs (e.g., data.records:read, data.records:write)
   • Base Access: Choose which base(s) or workspace(s) the token should apply to

   

5. Generate and Copy the Token
   Once saved, Airtable will generate your Personal Access Token (PAT).

   • Click Copy to copy the token to your clipboard
   • Store it securely, as this token acts like a password

6. Enter the Token in LinkAir Extension
   Open the LinkAir Chrome extension and go to the settings page.

   • Paste your API Token into the Airtable token field
   • Save the changes to finalize your integration

7. Verify the Integration
   Now, when browsing LinkedIn profiles, you’ll see the Add to Airtable button for new contacts or View in Airtable for existing ones.
