How to Find Your API Key in Streak

Streak lives inside Gmail, and so does its API key. There is no key page on streak.com — streak.com/api redirects to the developer documentation, which is where a lot of people get stuck looking for a button that was never there.

You will need a paid Streak plan. Streak no longer offers a free tier, and API access is listed from the Pro plan upwards.

Steps to create a Streak API key

1. Open Streak in Gmail Open Gmail with the Streak extension installed, and click the Streak icon in Gmail's left-hand sidebar.

2. Open Integrations Select Integrations — the first icon in the Home page top bar. This opens a panel where you can see existing integrations and create new keys.

3. Create a new key Choose Custom Integrations from the panel's sidebar, then click Create new key.

4. Copy the key Copy the key and paste it into the tool you are connecting.

What the key can do

A Streak API key carries all of the privileges you have. Every pipeline you can open in Streak is reachable with that key — there are no scopes to narrow it down, so the only meaningful control is who holds it.

That has a practical consequence worth thinking about before you generate one: the key represents you, not the company. If the person who created it leaves and their account is deprovisioned, integrations using their key stop working. For anything the whole team depends on, generate the key from an account that will outlive the project.

If you ever suspect a key has been exposed, delete it from the same Custom Integrations panel and create a new one. Deleting a key takes effect immediately, so update any tool using it at the same time.
